As part of the ongoing activities of the Academic Writing Application and Research Center, and in collaboration with the Graduate School of Educational Sciences, a Science Café Talk entitled “From Idea to Text: The Nuances of Academic Writing” will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 14:00, at the University Social Center (2nd Floor).
The talk will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seçil Tümen Akyıldız, Director of the Academic Writing Application and Research Center and a faculty member of the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. In this session, the academic writing process will be addressed from the initial idea stage to the structuring of a coherent academic text. Key issues such as academic language and style, text organization, and common challenges faced during academic writing will be discussed, along with practical and experience-based insights.
The event is open to graduate students, academics, researchers, and all those interested in improving their academic writing skills.
